12 week training program

12 week training blocks are the most beneficial to athletes who are looking at working on 3 or more areas or distances as it gives us time to work in stages and track progressions. It also allows us to work more closely with modifications more frequently if areas are excelling sooner.

This training program will allow an athlete to apply themselves to working on not just just grip and strength training but long distance (aerobic work) as well as speed (anaerobic work). Testing will be applied at the end of each 4 week block and usually best suited to those who have more than 1 main event coming up that they would like to train for e.g. Spartan Sprint (5km) and a Spartan Beast (21km) or 24hr Enduro event.

+ 3 x Testing Weeks (weeks 4 + 8 + 12) 

+ Sessions work in 3 blocks: progress each block to beat times each testing session

 

+ Progression in more specific training techniques e.g. HR training, Pacing, Elevation, Aerobic and Anaerobic work

+ Modifications to sessions available during any time of the program

+ Specific to athlete goals and upcoming events

+ All sessions tried and tested off Elite OCR Athletes
